About
Mark Reeder is an internationally collected realist painter who focuses on still life and portrait painting, while also painting landscapes and street scenes. Known for his unique blend of contemporary and traditional realism, Mark explores seemingly ordinary subjects, creating paintings that are, in essence, meditations on what is beautiful.
Born in Toronto, Canada (b.1974), he moved north of the city in 2006 seeking a change of pace and now lives and works just outside Algonquin Provincial Park.
Primarily self taught, Mark has always had an intense interest in drawing and painting as well as studying the works and methods of the old masters. He has spent many years refining his craft balancing technical execution with personal inspiration to create authentic works that resonate with like-minded collectors and art lovers.
Whether a portrait, still life or landscape, Mark’s paintings are about finding beauty in the stillness.
